You’re Not Lost; You’re in a Season of Transition
Have you ever smiled in public… but felt completely lost inside?
You’re functioning. Showing up. Checking boxes.
But privately, you feel restless, anxious, and unsure of who you’re becoming.
You’ve done everything “right”, built the resume, pursued the goals, tried to stay strong, yet something still feels off.
Maybe you’ve even looked around at your life and wondered, “Why do I feel so unsettled when everything looks fine?” or “Why do I feel stuck in this season of life?”
If you’re in your late 20s, 30s, or 40s asking yourself these kinds of questions, you’re not alone.
You’re not behind.
Can I just plainly say it?
You’re in a season of transition.
And this season isn’t a setback; it’s a signal.
Signal for what? You ask.
A signal that it’s time to pause, reflect, and rediscover who you truly are and what you’re meant to do next.
Sometimes the restlessness gets louder because the life you’ve been living no longer feels completely aligned with the person you’re becoming.
That can be uncomfortable. Modern life doesn’t exactly hand us a clear roadmap for navigating identity, career, purpose, relationships, and the expectations we thought we would have figured out by now.
And for many millennials, that tension is especially real. Purpose, meaningful work, personal growth, and well-being have become increasingly important when thinking about what success actually means.
So that unsettled feeling you’ve been trying to push aside?
It may not mean that something is wrong with you.
It may be inviting you to pay attention.
Because sometimes a season of transition begins when the question changes from:
“What should I do next?”
to:
“Who am I becoming — and what do I really want my life to mean?”
That’s where clarity begins.

What a Season of Transition Really Means
A season of transition is the space between who you were and who you are becoming.
You may know that something needs to change without knowing exactly what that change should look like yet.
That in-between space can show up as:
- Career doubt
- Identity questioning
- Restlessness
- Anxiety about the future
- Emotional overwhelm
- Feeling behind in life
- Questioning what you really want
- Wondering whether the direction you’re heading still fits you
It can feel like confusion, anxiety, and restlessness all at once.
However, those feelings may be revealing something worth paying attention to.
Maybe the question isn’t simply, “How do I get out of this season?”
Maybe it’s also:
“What is this season showing me about myself?”
I know this personally because I had to ask myself that same question.

My Season of Transition at 33
At 33, I found myself at one of the lowest points in my life.
I was jobless. Disheartened. Defeated.
On the outside, I could smile publicly.
But privately, I felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and guilty. I was anxious. I was panicking. I was reacting emotionally instead of responding intentionally.
The deepest tension wasn’t just financial stress or career uncertainty.
It was this question:
“Who am I really?”
I realized I didn’t just need a job.
I needed clarity.
That season pushed me into soul-searching. I began asking myself:
- What am I supposed to be doing?
- Who did God create me to be?
- What actually matters to me?
That internal push led me back to my faith walk with God and into deeper self-discovery.
It wasn’t instant clarity.
It was intentional reflection.
Eventually, I reached a turning point.
I attended a mentorship program that helped me begin seeing my strengths and abilities clearly for the first time.
It was an “aha” moment for me.
I began to realize that maybe I wasn’t defeated.
Maybe I was misaligned.
That awakening strengthened my faith and helped me recognize gifts and abilities in myself that I hadn’t fully understood before.
Eventually, that journey inspired me to become a personal development coach so I could help other women navigate their own seasons of transition with greater clarity and intention instead of panic.
Looking back, the season I thought was only about losing my direction became part of the journey that helped me discover it.
The Real Problem in a Season of Transition
When you’re feeling stuck, one of the first things people may tell you is:
“You just need to figure out your next move.”
Find another job.
Make a plan.
Set another goal.
Choose a direction.
But sometimes the real issue isn’t your next move.
It’s identity.
Because when you aren’t clear about who you are, what matters to you, or what direction fits you, almost every decision can start to feel heavy.
You overthink.
You compare.
You hesitate.
You question yourself.
And eventually, you start wondering whether everyone else is moving forward while you’re somehow falling behind.
But what if you’re not failing?
What if you’re discovering?
Instead, a season of transition can create an opportunity to slow down long enough to examine what you’ve been doing, what you’ve been believing, what matters to you now, and who you’re becoming.
That’s why I believe identity should come before direction.
Before constantly asking, “What should I do next?” sometimes we need to start by asking:
“Who am I?”
Because the more you understand yourself, the better equipped you are to make decisions about where you’re going.

How to Find Clarity in a Season of Transition
Clarity doesn’t happen by accident.
And it doesn’t always arrive as one huge aha moment.
Sometimes clarity develops one clue at a time.
A value you recognize.
A passion you reconnect with.
A strength you’ve overlooked.
A recurring desire you keep coming back to.
A pattern in the things that matter deeply to you.
A question you’ve finally given yourself permission to explore.
That’s why intentional self-discovery can be so powerful during a season of transition.
Instead of pressuring yourself to have your entire life figured out, you can slow down and start paying attention to the clues that may already be present in your life.
So, if you’re thinking, “Okay, but where do I even begin?”
I’ve created something to help you take that first step.
